When you start talking about typical food from Barranquilla, the first thing that comes to mind is that fried mojarra with patacón, coconut rice and salad. It is an economic recipe, very tasty and simple in its preparation. The most important thing to obtain a good dish with this type of product is that the fish smell as fresh as possible. In my region the dish is served with a golden mojarra, it is hard, very crunchy and perfectly cooked but in the mouth it has a salty taste.

    2.  Mote de Queso


Mote de queso is a typical soup from the Colombian coast, it is prepared with yam (a very soft tuber when cooked), salty cheese, garlic, onion, whey (sour cream) and a few drops of lemon. The mote de queso is considered a culinary emblem of the Colombian coast that could be considered a vegetable soup, so do not hesitate to try it right now.

It is a type of soup that is soft but has cubes of hard cheese and that is why it tastes a bit salty, it does not look like a traditional soup but it smells very good because of its ingredients, it takes on a sour taste when you add a piece of lemon to it however it is still delicious
